Overstep™ Sexual Harassment Prevention Training — Supervisor & Manager Edition (2 Hours)
2-hour supervisor + manager edition • harassment prevention training
Supervisors need more than definitions. OverStep™ gives managers a practical framework for recognizing sexual harassment and prohibited conduct, understanding how authority changes workplace interactions, responding when concerns surface, preventing retaliation, and choosing appropriate intervention strategies.
Managers do not only need to recognize an OverStep. They need to know what happens next.
The Supervisor & Manager Edition includes the employee foundation, then goes further into the responsibilities that come with authority. Managers examine how power can contribute to inappropriate conduct, why an employee may hesitate to speak up, and how supervisory choices can either increase risk or create safety.
When a concern is raised, the course focuses on response, reporting, confidentiality limits, anti-retaliation, follow-up, and intervention. The goal is not to turn supervisors into investigators. It is to help them recognize when action is required, respond appropriately, and move the concern into the correct organizational process.
OverStep™ keeps the learning practical through scenarios, reflection, and decision points that ask managers to consider the situation, the power dynamics, the potential impact, and the next responsible step.

The manager difference
A comment, invitation, joke, request, or relationship can feel different when one person controls schedules, assignments, evaluations, promotions, pay, or access to opportunities. OverStep™ helps supervisors examine that power directly and use it to prevent harm, reinforce expectations, and respond when conduct crosses a line.
What managers are responsible for
The second hour focuses on the responsibilities that become more important when a learner has supervisory authority.
Recognize how role, status, decision-making power, and perceived consequences can shape employee choices and workplace interactions.
Respond to the employee, avoid promises you cannot keep, report through the appropriate pathway, and support the next steps.
Recognize direct and subtle retaliation risks, reinforce protections, and avoid decisions that can punish someone for raising or supporting a concern.
Communicate expectations, interrupt concerning behavior, reinforce reporting options, and choose interventions that fit the situation and impact.

Exact learning outcomes
These seven learning outcomes reflect the 2-hour Supervisor & Manager Edition.
Practice the decision
OverStep™ uses realistic situations to help supervisors practice pausing, assessing power and impact, setting boundaries, addressing concerning conduct, and moving reports into the appropriate organizational process.

Compliance-focused design
OverStep™ is designed around the content areas and supervisor responsibilities that appear across harassment-prevention requirements, with employer and jurisdiction-specific implementation still considered separately.
California employers with five or more employees must provide supervisory employees at least two hours of sexual harassment prevention training every two years. This edition is designed around that 2-hour supervisory framework.
Chicago requires two hours of sexual harassment prevention training annually for supervisors and managers. Chicago also requires a separate one-hour annual bystander intervention training for all employees.
Use OverStep™ as a core supervisor training path, then confirm local timing, content, trainer, industry, policy, reporting, or supplemental requirements that apply to each workforce location.
Compliance depends on the employer, jurisdiction, workforce, timing, delivery method, policy information, and other applicable requirements. This page describes the course design and is not legal advice. Employers should confirm current requirements for their workforce.
